Graduation Requirements
Required or core courses (see General Studies Credit Requirements below), must be passed for credit in order to graduate with the required combination of credits. Promotion and student classification are determined on an individual basis, according to the number of required courses successfully completed for credit.
A student must acquire a minimum of:
- 5 core credits for sophomore classification
- 11 core credits for junior classification
- 18 core credits for senior classification
To graduate from Cornerstone Christian Academy, a student must currently successfully complete a minimum of 23.5 credits* overall at the high school level.
No student may participate in graduation activities/ceremonies without meeting all graduation requirements, including the Scriptural conduct standards we embrace.

*Each student must complete a total of 27 credits including core and elective courses to graduate. It is important that a student who wishes to plan a program of studies carefully reviews the requirements for graduation prior to registering for the school year. It is the student's/parent's responsibility to see that the requirements for graduation are met. The school will make available to parents an up-to -date record of the student's progress toward completing the necessary course work for graduation. For those students transitioning or transferring to Cornerstone Christian Academy, we will make every effort to adapt their current credits to our subject studies and credit requirements. Honors Diploma: Students will also want to consider the possibility of earning a Diploma with Honors from the State of Ohio. This diploma is earned by meeting eight of the following nine criteria. The italicized criteria are already met by the required CCA course of studies:
1. Earn four credits of English
2. Earn three credits of Math (including Algebra I, Algebra II and Geometry or their equivalents.
3. Earn three credits of Science (including Physical Science, Biology, and Chemistry)
4. Earn three credits of Social Studies
5. Earn one unit of Business or Technology or three additional units from 1-6
6. Earn three credits of one foreign language, or two credits each of two foreign languages
7. Earn one credit in fine arts (Choir, Art, etc.)
8. Maintain a GPA of at least 3.5 (on 4.0 scale) through the last grading period of the senior year
9. Obtain scores on:
a. ACT - 27 composite
b. SAT - 1210 composite (with no regard to the writing portion)
